Program Information

Fescue

A cool-season grass that stays green all year round. Fescue is the most commonly grown grass in this region. Best planted Sept. - Nov. as it thrives in cooler weather. Can stress when temps get above 90 F. Mow to a height of 3-4"

Bermuda

A warm-season grass that is commonly grown for sports fields and golf courses due to its short height. Mow to 2" high. It will go dormant and turn brown at the first fall frost until late spring. This grass will spread underground, becoming wider over time.

Zoysia

A warm-season grass with a wider blade than Bermuda and is a little taller. Mow to 3" high. This grass goes dormant after the first frost in fall, until late spring. Plant this grass May- Aug. Cut this grass a little bit taller at 3" high,
