Items Sold By Bulk
What are Bulk Items?
Most bulk items are generally sold by the scoop, such as soils, mulches, compost, sand, gravel and some rocks. However, some are sold in units, such as straw bales, sod, or boulders, pavers, and other such stones.
What is a scoop?
A "scoop" is how we measure out your order. Not all scoops are the same size! Our scoop is very large at approximately 1 full cubic yard. The smallest unit we can sell is 1/4 of a scoop.
1 cu. yd. covers:
150 sq. ft., at 2" deep
108 sq. ft., at 3" deep
How Do I make a purchase?
Bulk items must be purchased at the Cashier Station inside our store before they can be loaded. A cashier will then send a loader to meet you at the bulk items area to load your trailer or truck for you. Simply show the loader your receipt.
What if i don't have a trailer or truck?
No worries! We do offer delivery service. It is a distance-based fee. A cashier would be happy to give you a quote or schedule a convenient delivery time for you.

Straw Bales
Ooltewah Nursery offers both wheat straw bales and pine straw bales. Our staff are happy to load these into your vehicle for you. If loading inside your vehicle, our cashiers have free sheets of plastic available to help protect your trunk or interior.
